PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES

This role has direct engagement with senior management and works cross-functionally with various teams within Galvion to review, analyze and interpret results as well as interacts with external auditors, when required. This is a scheduled 18-month long contract role.

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to monthly financial operations by assisting in account preparation, and reconciliation, and conducting insightful analyses of financial statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and enter provisions, reclassifications and cost reallocations.
  • Maintain balance sheet accounts analysis and continuity schedules.
  • Maintain files to ensure proper roll up of all departments and G/L accounts.
  • Maintain all master data required in the ERP systems to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support the review and analysis of departmental expenses.
  • Support the analysis of business trends by profit/cost center, product line and key customer and prepare commentary.
  • Support in the preparation and analysis of annual budgets, forecasts and other reporting as necessary.
  • Support the audit preparation and providing relevant documentation to the auditors.
  • Responsible for other duties, as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA Certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in financial analysis and/or reporting
  • Experience with standard costing in a manufacturing environment (an asset)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Knowledge and experience with budgeting, financial benchmarking and variance analysis
  • Good understanding of how transactions flow and impact the financial statements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact positively with others at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to report accurately, meet tight deadlines, work on projects independently, be self-motivated and multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, to embrace change, and foster creativity within the organization.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience with tier two ERP systems preferred.
  • Occasional travel between Montreal and other Galvion sites in U.S.
  • Preserve confidentiality of company financial information and employee personal information
