WHAT YOUR WILL BE DOING

The Maintenance & Facilities Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that the building and equipment within the facility and facility grounds, are meeting expectations. When there are failures or issues, it is the Team Lead’s responsibility to troubleshoot, work with third party vendors, and keep things in working order. This role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted service of all operations and in maintaining a safe, comfortable working environment for all employees.

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

People:

  • Interface with General Contractors on facilities and equipment work. Be main POC for majority of external vendors such as vending, mats, garbage, fire department, etc.
  • Work closely with site Admin Coordinator and Landlord, to ensure building is maintained and issues are escalated as needed.
  • Oversee the external cleaning service, managing contract, addressing concerns, or occasionally procuring new services using bidding process.
  • Engage with State OSHA, environmental officials and the facility EHS Coordinator regarding the conformance, inspection, and approval of site facilities.
  • Maintain accurate employee documentation for staff; including attendance and performance information for reviews and/or corrective action. Address employee’s issues in a timely, professional, confidential manner.
  • Manage team and responsible for yearly evaluation, performance management, etc. Direct the maintenance team’s daily work assignments.

Process:

  • Assist in developing, bidding, purchasing, installing and operating new production equipment and tooling to improve quality and productivity
  • Ensure that tooling equipment is safe and respect production quality parameters.
  • Organize and/or assign storage spaces.
  • Maintain the HVAC schedules, make changes and override based on requests.
  • Oversee and manage parking lot conditions and lighting.
  • Oversee, maintain and train required employees on building alarm system. Ensure system is in working order and run periodic tests.
  • Troublesoot and perform basic electrical and plumbing installation and repair work.
  • Perform facility repairs, installations, maintenance, improvements and inspections.
  • Occassionally assist in setting up shelves, racks, tables, work stations, etc. Assist in workstation moves of employees.
  • Enusures all PM’s are assigned and completed in a timely manner.
  • Determine and maintain equipment spare parts and supplies inventories.
  • Support Manufacturing and Engineering in process/product development and improvement activities.
  • Manage sub-contracting of equipment and tooling (creation or maintenance).
  • Ensure maintenance records remain ISO-9001 compliant at all times and participate in ISO audits and surveillance visits as necessary.
  • Document maintenance in appropriate software.
  • Participate in the management of sub-contracting of equipment and tooling.
  • Perform regular building inspections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Identify and propose plans to improve site facilities performance to optimize quality and good output.

Knowledge, Skill & Experience Requirements

  • 2 year technical certification or vocational school diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Outstanding mechanical inspection skills.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance, equipment and building.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and fixing complex equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC and Hydraulics.
  • Ability to research parts, drawings, diagrams and schematics.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Kaizen practices is helpful.
  • Must be able to read an interpret drawings, sketches, samples, specifications and be able to follow verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to safely work at varying heights throughout the facility utilizing proper safety protocol.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to define priorities with minimal supervision in a fast paced production environment.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA and NEC regulations with regarding implementation/compliance.
  • Ability to create detailed work instructions and train others in the operation of complex manufacturing equipment, building elements, etc.
  • Responsiveness to external and internal customers and a can-do, positive attitude are a must.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment, testing methods and techniques.
  • Outstanding work ethic and passion for excellence, a must.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Possess excellent people skills and works well in a team environment.
  • Clear understanding of safe work practices and Lockout / Tagout protocols.
