THE OPPORTUNITY

The Product Configuration Management Specialist III will be responsible for the release of Engineering deliverables, such as engineering drawings, production work instructions, engineering specifications, documents, and company processes and procedures. The Product Configuration Management Specialist III will manage the engineering baseline for each product in the PLM database, defining the effectivity of each change within a configured assembly. The Product Configuration Management Specialist III will lead the Change Control Board for all changes to the released baseline for each product configuration, participate in Configuration Audits as the Project Configuration Manager (i.e. PCA, FCA, and Baseline Configuration Audits) as requested by the Program, Project or Customer. The Product Configuration Management Specialist III will provide support on the development, training, and maintenance of program configuration management processes and procedures and tools, manage the CM queue, working cross-functionally with other departments as required as the CM representative. Resolve system and user issues or errors with engineering documentation or within the system databases. Continually work to identify process enhancements for known gaps in functionality of the current tools and processes, and participate in the assessment, planning, and rollout of system upgrades for PDM, PLM and ERP.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Performs day to day configuration management activities related to identification, control, release, and status accounting for engineering documents in accordance with customer contractual requirements and Company policy.
    • This includes working closely with Engineers to create Engineering Bills of Material in the PLM and work with Operations and IT to ensure that they migrate to the ERP system as Manufacturing Bills of Material.
  • Manage and control tasks assigned to product configuration management.
  • Participates in reviewing engineering documentation changes with engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing to ensure compliance with configuration management and customer requirements, and company policy.
  • Manage effectivity for each change to the configured Assembly.
  • Manage the engineering baselines in the PLM database and lead the Change Control Board for all changes to the baseline configuration (ECR, ECO, ECN process).
  • Provide training and support to new employees and resolve user issues related to engineering documentation and related databases.
  • Work with IT and external support functions to troubleshoot and resolve system database and interface errors for the PLM, PIP, and Oracle databases.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor Degree or 2-year Associates Degree (DEC) with 8+ year of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing or production environment required.
  • Must have strong interpersonal / relationship building skills.
  • Knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts related to process and configuration management (CM).
  • CMII Certification a plus.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Must be familiar with ISO processes.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office tools required.
  • Cross-cultural business experience considered a plus.
  • Experience in the use of ERP programs (i.e. Syteline), a plus.
  • Experience in the use of PLM and BOM management programs (i.e. Arena), a plus.
  • Highly motivated problem solver with meticulous attention to details.
  • Autonomous and self-driven
  • Occasional travel to Newport, VT & Portsmouth, NH locations as required.
