THE OPPORTUNITY

Galvion has a unique opportunity for a CNC Machining Lead to join our team in Marlborough, MA. You will be responsible for operating equipment that automatically loads plastic parts and assemblies and automatically machines and processes parts to meet final product specifications. This role is on a 9/80 work week schedule, with every other Friday off.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

In this highly visible and critical lead role, you must be able to meet production schedules with quality parts, maintain tooling and machine operation, perform light maintenance on the automated equipment and deliver parts to the next manufacturing step on-time. You will be highly involved with training operators and technicians with less experience and helping to improve work & maintenance processes.

YOU WILL BE EVALUATED ON YOUR ABILITY TO

• Load raw materials into the CNC machine and select or input requirements into the controller.

• Choose and load the correct cutting tools for the job.

• Complete quality control tests and measurements as specified.

• Evaluate performance (dimensions, surface defects, etc.) and work with engineers to troubleshoot the manufacturing process as needed.

• Adjusting machine settings as required to the product specifications.

• Clean and maintain automated equipment per manufacturer’s specifications.

• Install machine tools and components per machining center instructions.

• Take accurate measurements of parts to meet manufacturing requirements.

• Create and/or modify work and maintenance procedures for improvements in quality and equipment operation.

• Maintain safety and 5S program for machining center area.

• Ensure that all duties are performed in a timely manner consistent with applicable quality requirements, safety guidelines, and applicable procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Significant (8+ years) experience with CNC machining center operations, as well as experience using calipers, verniers, and other mechanical measuring instruments.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and dimensional specifications.

• Computer literate, proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, specifically).

• A motivated and creative problem solver that is meticulous and quality conscious.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be adaptable to rapidly shifting priorities and testing schedules.
