THE OPPORTUNITY

Galvion has a unique opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team. This role is on a 9/80 work week schedule, with every other Friday off, and you can work from either Portsmouth, NH or Marlborough, MA.

** We run several programs out of both our Portsmouth, NH and Marlborough, MA facilities. Because of this, you as Technical Lead providing direction to the team will be expected to support those programs by being present in either facility when required. **

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

You will play a lead role on a team that identifies and manages program risks, provides structured and analytical framework for decision management, defines, and manages program requirements and defines, manages, and performs testing and evaluation. You will have the opportunity to drive program lifecycle management through developed architectures for innovative new smart technologies. Working closely with Systems Architects, Mechanical, Electronic & Software Engineers, you will be able to put your signature on the systems and processes that produce and deliver our critical and life-saving products.

YOU WILL BE EVALUATED ON YOUR ABILITY TO

• Provide technical leadership to multi-disciplinary teams to ensure designs meet requirements.

• Develop system level requirements from SOWs.

• Valuate conflicting requirements between engineering disciplines to guide design choices.

• Partner and advise Senior Leadership and Program Managers to ensure program success.

• Lead design reviews for engineering development and support program reviews.

• Develop and track system specification documents, sub-assembly flow down and compliance matrices and develop and execute test plans to the applicable standards.

• Leverage your experience to lead process improvements and engineering excellence initiatives.

• Review and guide all systems design/engineering activities in the product development life cycle, including but not limited to: Electronic design, material selection, FEA, drawings, prototyping, BOMs, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, etc.

• Bridge the gap between engineering disciplines and non-technical team members.

• Collaborate closely with technical resources at key suppliers and critical customers.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

• BS in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering required, Masters in Systems Engineering is preferred.

• Meaningful applicable experience working in small teams of engineering through a product development process.

• Experience with systems architecture, requirements analysis and decision framework matrices.

• Exposure to MBSE, MCAD & ECAD tools and experience with military environmental standards.
